A $2000 bagged bagless vacuum
Dyson has always been a company that's fascinated me. Like Apple but family-owned. Sort of like Miele, the German manufacturer, except high-tech with zany colours. Vacuum cleaners fascinate me in general too.
Charging $2000 for a thing to suck up dust is objectively an absurd thing. It's even more absurd to create a filtration system relying on 36 tiny rubber-tipped cyclones, just to avoid using a vacuum bag.
It's then jumping the shark, 34 years after you pioneered ditching the bag, to then create a vacuum that cleans your cyclonic bagless wizardry by sucking the dirt from your bagless vacuum into a bag.
This is the new Dyson DS60 Piston, which has just been released in South Korea. MSRP for the fully-specced version: NZ$1800 (currency converted). This is more likely to be $2200 though, judging by the price of the existing specced-out model.
